Why I'm Running

California is one of the most beautiful, creative, liberal and forward-thinking places on Earth – yet too many people are being forced out by corruption, wasted money, unaffordable living costs, and a system that protects insiders instead of citizens.

I was forced to evacuate my home during the wild fires and although it did not burn, when I drive through areas like Pacific Palisades, there is virtually nothing left. It looks like a nuclear bomb went off. How there could be no water in the fire hydrants is astonishing. There should be accountability and restitution. The homeless situation is horrific and affects local business. The streets are littered and dirty. The gas is refined here but costs less in the Desert in Nevada. California needs honest, independent, strong, competent leadership.

I’m running for Governor to give Californians a real alternative – a better quality of life and more opportunity.

Marcus Silver’s 10-Point Plan for California

1. Eliminate State Income Tax.  Under my plan, there will be no state income tax for anyone making under $400,000 a year, we must stop the exodus out of California to no-tax states.
2. Stop Government Waste and Corruption.  This is the 5th largest economy and billions are wasted every year. We’ll audit spending, cut bloat, and hold officials accountable.
3. Protect Homeowners and Tenants.  I know firsthand what it’s like to fight. We’ll strengthen protections and promote swift justice.
4. Make California Affordable Again.  Costs are out of control — housing, energy, insurance, and basic living expenses. We’ll tackle the drivers of high costs and open the door to real competition and more affordability.
5. Support Working People and Small Businesses.  Small businesses create jobs. We’ll cut red tape, reduce unnecessary fees, and support those who keep our communities running.
6. Fix the Homelessness and Mental Health Crisis.  We need treatment, accountability, and safe streets — not just endless spending with no results.
7. Back Law Enforcement and Protect Civil Liberties.  We can have both safety and freedom. We’ll support good policing while defending constitutional rights.
8. Defend Free Speech & Independent Media.  California should be a place where people can speak freely without censorship or intimidation.
9. Modernize Education.  Focus on real-world skills, arts, trades, and technology — not bureaucracy and politics in the classroom.
10. Put People Before Parties.  This campaign is about people, not political machines. I will work with anyone, from any party, who is serious about fixing California.

About Marcus Silver

Marcus Silver is a musician, filmmaker, and California entrepreneur running for Governor to bring the state honest, independent leadership. Marcus has lived in New York, London, and Los Angeles, building a career that spans music, film, and finance.

He is the founder and frontman of the hard rock band SILVER STEEL, the creator of the 24/7 Roku music network ROCKTV, and the producer of the upcoming comedy–mockumentary film Audition Time. His creative work has reached audiences worldwide, giving him a deep connection to California’s cultural and artistic community.

Marcus has also spent more than a decade fighting powerful financial institutions in court. That experience showed him firsthand how badly California needs leaders who aren’t controlled by corporations, insiders, or political machines.

He is running for Governor to protect homeowners and renters, eliminate the state income tax for most working Californians, reduce government waste and corruption, restore affordability, defend free speech, support small businesses, and make California safe, clean, and livable again.

Marcus believes California can be bold, creative, prosperous, and fair — but only if the people take the state back from career politicians.
